This week’s sonic meditation consisted of listening to a particular created sound (a chime) and then sampling it: Selecting the part to sample by paying attention to the beginning and the end – splitting off this section, being careful to be inclusive of all the sounds, and then looping this continuously within the mind until indicated to stop.
Proposed and led by our yogi Snoo, inspired by Pauline Oliveros.
“I’m asking you to be inclusive and non-judgemental. Lift off your judgements and not try to identify what a sound is; just simply experience it.” Pauline Oliveros (interview below).
We meet every week at 8:30 on Saturday mornings for a session of Meditation, followed by Sonic Meditation, followed by tea.
